A preprint primer from The Company of Biologists
15 July 2022
Preprints are an increasingly popular method to share research prior to formal peer review and publication. The Company of Biologists, which facilitates and supports the preLights community, has produced a short primer that takes you through what happens when you preprint your paper.
In the video, Sharon Ahmad and Katherine Brown, the Executive Editors at Journal of Cell Science and Development, respectively, discuss what it means to preprint your research, the advantages of commenting on preprints for both authors and readers, how preprints are integrated with the traditional journal structure and some experiments that might shape the future of preprint.
