ECR Advocacy Event

preLights will be turning four on 20 February! Since our launch in 2018 we’ve published over 1200  preLights posts, with representation from every bioRxiv category, and established an engaging presence on Twitter. But at the heart of preLights is our community of preLighters: early-career researchers (ECRs) who advocate for preprints, use their spare time to write preLights posts and offer editorial feedback on other preLighters posts.

We are grateful to all of our preLighters for their time and the brilliant preLights posts they write – so what better time than our birthday to hold a celebration of ECRs! Along with our sister community sites FocalPlane and the Node, we are excited to be hosting an interactive discussion and networking event, ‘Promoting yourself as an ECR’. Our event will begin with a panel session featuring our speakers Sarvenaz Sarabipour (who was recently featured in our ‘preLights talks to’ interview series), Maria Abou Chakra, and Pablo Sáez, followed by a networking event including representatives from The Company of Biologists.
