Introducing spotLights: a new interview series

12 July 2024

We are thrilled to announce the launch of spotLights, an interview series that aims to highlight the early-career researchers behind the most exciting biological preprints.

spotLights provides a platform for early-career researchers to share their exciting work and personal experiences navigating an academic career. Each episode will highlight the highs and lows of the research journey, including any unexpected twists and turns, and emphasise the learning experiences of early-career researchers as they work on their preprint stories.

By adding a human touch to scientific research, we hope to provide listeners with unique insights into the behind-the-scenes world of academia.

You can find our first episode below – in this episode, we talk to Dr Bruno C. Vellutini. Bruno is a postdoctoral researcher working at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden, Germany. Among other things, we discuss his recent preprint entitled “Patterned embryonic invagination evolved in response to mechanical instability” which was also highlighted as part of a dedicated preLights post.

Keep an eye on this page for future episodes.
