preLighters go live! This Thursday

1 September 2025

– How do membrane actin protrusions initiate T-cells signalling?

– What does RhoA have to do with nuclear envelope tensions in stem cells?

– Does advanced microscopy help study mechano-signalling – and how?

– Why did the authors decide to preprint their research?

Welcome to our September mix of topics and formats!

preLights is going live at FocalPlane Features…

Thanks to our wonderful preLighters Vibha Singh and Felipe Del Valle, who responded to our invitation to try out this new and experimental format.

The idea is to explore the format of preLights in light and lively face-to-face conversation between the preLighters and the researchers involved in the topics of interest first-hand.

This Thursday (4 September) we will be talking about advanced microscopy and mechano-signalling.

To that end, Felipe and Vibha will guest-host a FocalPlane webinar. They will chair the talks of two researchers – Carmen Rodilla-Ramírez (Freie Universität Berlin, Germany) and Eva Mejia-Ramirez (The Bellvitge Institute for Biomedical Research, Spain) – prefacing them with a few words about why they found these works noteworthy.

After Carmen’s and Eva’s talk, all four will gather on the panel to chat a bit more in depth about the perks and perils of preprinting your work as well as engage with the virtual audience of the webinar.

Will we have more preLighters going live?

We’ll see! For now – join us this Thursday (4 September) at 14:00-15:00 BST for our –
