Recording available of our ECR event

On 23 February, in conjunction with our sister Community sites FocalPlane and the Node, we hosted an ECR advocacy event with our brilliant panellists Maria Abou Chakra, Pablo Sáez and Sarvenaz Sarabipour. We were delighted to receive so many questions from the audience, and our panellists gave some excellent advice on how to navigate the world of academia as an early-career researcher.

In case you missed it, you can now view a recording of the event online on The Company of Biologists YouTube channel. On the Node you can also find answers from our panellists to some of the questions we didn’t have time to address during the discussion time. Included in the recording is an overview of the ECR initiatives offered by The Company of Biologists, including our grants and Future Leaders Reviews.

We are also very glad to announce that FocalPlane launched their FocalPlane Network this week! Bringing together researchers working in microscopy all over the world, the FocalPlane Network is a great resource for ECRs. Similarly, if you work in Developmental biology, check out the Node Network to become part of their global directory.
