James Gagnon

University of Utah

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Utah.

My lab is particularly focused on the cell lineage tree – the structure of cell divisions that defines the composition of the organism. We are developing tools to record this tree with CRISPR genome editing. We want to determine how the lineage tree underlies vertebrate embryogenesis and the construction and maintenance of organs.

We primarily tackle these questions in the zebrafish, a perfect organism for developmental biology.

My lab website is http://www.gagnonlab.org/
