Okayama University

I am an assistant professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Biomedicine, led by Prof. Mitsunobu R. Kano, at Okayama University Graduate School of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences. I obtained my M.D. at the University of Tokyo. My work focuses on the application of 3D cell culture techniques in disease modeling, with a particular emphasis on recapitulating fibrotic processes especially in the context of pancreatic cancer. I am interested in how the cellular microenvironment regulates cellular behavior, and what this might teach us about the pathogenetic mechanisms at play in fibrosis.
