I am a postdoctoral researcher in Jacob Bentzon´s laboratory (http://bentzonlab.org/) at Aarhus University (Denmark). My scientific interests include vascular smooth muscle cell and macrophage functions in cardiovascular disease. I completed my PhD in Mercedes Ricote´s lab (https://www.cnic.es/en/investigacion/nuclear-receptor-signaling) at CNIC (Madrid, Spain), studying the role of macrophages in inflammation and tissue repair following myocardial infarction. During my PhD, I had the opportunity to carry out a short stay in Fil Swirski´s lab (https://csb.mgh.harvard.edu/filip_swirski) at the Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, USA). Currently, my research focuses on understanding vascular smooth muscle phenotypic modulation in atherosclerosis and fibrous cap formation.
