Maria is a doctoral student at BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, Vancouver, Canada, working on investigating how early-life infections can impact B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) progression. She completed her Masters and Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering at Drexel University (Philadelphia, USA), specializing in Tissue and Pediatric Engineering.
