I received my Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune, India.  My graduate work involved understanding how certain proteins are capable of shaping and remodeling lipid membranes and catalyzing membrane fission. Currently, I am a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, USA.  As a postdoc, I am working to develop tools to understand how fat accumulates in cells and how proteins regulate this process. Broadly, I am interested in developing assay systems that reconstitute membrane and protein interactions to visualize these interactions in real-time. By visualizing and measuring membrane-proteins dynamics, I hope to glean new information and contextualize the role of these interactions in cells.
