I am a cell biologist currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Institut curie, Paris with Dr. Christophe Lamaze. My research interest lies in understanding how migrating cells read and interpret mechano-chemical stimuli.
In my Ph.D. work with Dr. Nagaraj Balasubramanian (IISER Pune, India), I discovered a novel regulation by cell-matrix adhesion on Golgi organization and function in anchorage-dependent mammalian cells (Singh et al., JCS, 2018). Findings from my thesis work could have implications in cell-matrix biology research in disease conditions and also a role in established mitotic-Golgi fragmentation pathway.

Answer by Anna Akhmanova :
We have compared the effect of Taxol on RhoA activation to the effect microtubule depolymerization with nocodazole – please see Figure 1A-D of our preprint. The effect of microtubule disassembly by nocodazole on RhoA activation is stronger than the effect of Taxol, and this could explain why Kashyap et al. 2019 observed denditic cell maturation after treatment with microtubule-destabilizing compounds but not taxanes. Furthermore, the extent of RhoA activation by taxanes may depend on the cell type and the abundance of microtubules – important aspects that we have not yet explored.

Hello, Yes I saw your article when it was posted on Biorxiv few mopnths back. Congratulation on getting it published. Indeed, it is quite remarkable to see taxane inducing GEF-H1 activation.
I am working in the lab of Dr. Robert Rottapel (PMCRT, Toronto) and studying GEF-H1. So, I do these experiemnts regularly, but as I use quite low concentration of paclitaxel, I never observed GEF-H1–RhoA activation. But, as your recent article and Anna Akhmanova’s study demonstrate it is quite convincing that at higher concentration taxane can induce GEF-H1…RhoA activation.
