I am a post-doctoral fellow in the lab of Prof. Judi Allen, at the University of Manchester. Currently, my main research focus is to explore and understand how immune responses are coordinated between different tissues in the body during nematode infections. However, my interests span widely across the immunology field, and I am particularly amazed about how environmental and genetic factors may influence immunity.
I received my PhD from the University of Lisbon in 2019, where I worked with different aspects of γδ T cell biology at Prof. Bruno Silva-Santos lab. Also, during my studies I witnessed the growing impact of preprints and social media in biology research, and ever since became fascinated about the evolution of science communication and publishing.
