Fascinated by transcriptional regulation during development and evolution. I explored the relationship between chromosome conformation and gene cis-regulatory landscapes in Edith Heard’s lab at the Institut Curie, in Paris, and I am building developmental synthetic networks in Justin Crocker’s group at EMBL, Heidelberg. When not at the bench, spreading the passion for science with Native Scientist or staring at wildlife in the nearest spot.

Thanks Erik! A great example of how a specific GRN has been exploited throughout evolution… And probably a good model to keep deepening our understanding of the mechanisms behind that. I wonder how easy it is to manipulate this crustacean?!
