Matthew Davies
My name is Matthew Davies and I am a PhD student under the supervision of Dr Sebastian Rumpf at the University of Muenster, Germany, however I am originally from Liverpool, UK. I utilise Drosophila developmental neurite pruning as a model to study how regular microtubule orientation is established in neuronal dendrites, particularly focussing on the role of actin-microtubule crosslinker and spectraplakin Shot. As a result, of course, I am interested in neuronal development broadly, the cytoskeleton, and its regulation. Additionally, I also maintain a keen interest in cellular trafficking and the endocytic pathway following my Master’s work in that area.
