Are Zinc oxide nanoparticles safe? A structural study on human serum albumin using in vitro and in silico methods
https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/503797v2
Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles are heavily used in various biomedical and formulation applications. In their preprint, Hassanian et al. investigate the toxicity of ZnO nanoparticles, using in vitro and in silico studies to understand the effects that ZnO nanoparticles have on human serum albumin (HSA).
A Bile Duct-on-a-Chip with Organ-Level Functions
https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/594291v1
The bile duct-on-a-chip invention by Du et al. could be used to further explore the hepatobiliary tree, investigate pharmacokinetic testing phases of drug discovery, and understand the hepatobiliary system more holistically. Taken together, these would aid in efforts to characterise how drugs and toxins might affect the entire hepatobiliary system.
