Hello!
My name is Felipe Del Valle. I am a biologist from Chile, and I began my scientific journey in Maria Isabel Yuseff’s lab, studying B cell biology, specifically the formation of the immune synapse. During my PhD, I explored the mechanosensing of B cells and how mechanical cues shape the process of antigen capture and presentation, particularly focusing on how lysosomes respond to changes in the environment.
I am currently doing my postdoc at Juan Bonifacino’s lab at the NIH, USA. During this stage of my career, I will be studying lysosome transport and the alternative functions of this organelle in neuronal models. I love microscopy and image analysis, so I aim to incorporate these as much as possible into my preLights and future work.

December in preprints – the CellBio edition
A group of preLighters, with expertise in different areas of cell biology, have worked together to create this preprint reading lists for researchers with an interest in cell biology. This month, categories include: 1) cell cycle and division 2) cell migration and cytoskeleton 3) cell organelles and organisation 4) cell signalling and mechanosensing 5) genetics/gene expression
